HELP!! I Need a Restaurant (s) for Next Weekend/New London

temilove Aug 4, 2011 08:23 AM

I am taking my family away in the New London area next week, and I don't know any family friendly restaurants with good food. I need Italian, Greek, Mexican and a good breakfast place. Anything you could recommend, I will take it! Thanks.

Dev's on Bank Street is a great tapas restaurant, I've always had great food there, good happy hour and overall cozy place.

Totally agree with Devs on Bank St. twice a year we judge the annual New London Food Stroll. Its a great event where about 50 restaurants hand out samples. The Hill does it but not even close. Devs has won 2 years in a row. Another one is the Northern Indian and some of the best pizza and simple italian food is 2 wives pizza.

On the Groton side of the river there is Paul's Pasta. Homemade pasta, reasonably priced, family friendly, good food, not far from New London.

For your Italian choice, I heartily recommend Tony D's. Very good and not just a traditional red sauce place. Sole Florentine, for example, is excellent. I like Paul'sPasta too but Tony's is better and no waiting in line. Enjoy!

Great! All these Italian places sound good. How about any Mexican, Breakfast, Greek or just good old American cuisine! Thanks so much!

Breafast. -- a little ways away but Somewhere In Time in Old Mystic is very good.

Lunch -- Hamilton Market on Broad Street in New London has the best sub/grinders around. I doubt even Adam Richman could finish their "large."

Sushi -- Singapore Grill and Sushi Bar in New London on Bank St.

Casual clam shack, lobster roll -- Captain Scott's on Hamilton.

              Somewhere In Time

For Mexican you can go to Ortegas in Groton, If you want Sushi go to Mystic at Peking Toyoko, it is the best! Broken Yolk in New London is good for breakfast!

Tony D's is way better than Paul's Pasta. Olio in Groton is even better.
