Is it worth driving to Trattoria LisIna??

Lotus7 Aug 4, 2011 07:34 AM

I'd like to take my husband out for dinner some place special for his bday-preferably some place with a beautiful view but where we can sit inside. Well have our 2 little ones with us as well as 3 family members who are vegetarian ( my husband and I are carnivores). Does this Trattoria fit the bill? It's a hike for us so I want to make sure that it's worth it. We live in Bee Caves-anything closer? No interested in places like Oasis this time. Thx!

    See my review here:

I've only been once, but it was great. I'd definitely go back. Check out their happy hour wine deals.

I've been there half a dozen times in 2009/2010 and I've been satisfied with the food / service. It's not spectacular, but it's good. I haven't been there in 2011.

I would go there over Mandola's in a heartbeat.

We've been twice, wouldn't go back.

I've been three times. I think it's very good, but there are tons of places in Austin that are just as good without the hike. There's no view, but I personally would choose Siena over Trattoria Lisina for that kind of thing.

I know you said you did not want the Oasis, but the new italian Soleil restaurant out there in my opinion in just as good as Sienna. You the view.

What do you want to know? It's Italian. They're in a pretty, free-standing building on 360 and 2222. Noise level is usually pretty reasonable. Here's their website:

I just thought of another place with a view: Mizu. I personally think it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but the food is pretty good and the view is definitely nice.

Also, while the grounds of Trattoria Lisina are very pretty, I wouldn't say there's really much of a view when you're sitting in the dining room.

I think it is worth a drive. Great food, beautiful grounds. Check it out.
