Suggestions for Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, or North Wildwood

njchowgal Aug 4, 2011 06:35 AM

I am looking for some suggestions for places to eat for the week while we are staying in Wildwood. Nothing too fancy, as we will have a baby with us most of the time. I am open to any type of cuisine, but I especially wanted at least one night of snow crab legs. I have read many reviews on Yelp, Urban Spoon, etc., and the reviews for every place seem very mixed. I was hoping to get some personal favorites from the 'hounds on this board. Thank you!

PS Here are some places I was considering. I appreciate any comments...

Sharky's Feeding Frenzy
Bandana's Mexican Grill (WW Crest)
Goodfish Grill
Jersey Girl Bar/Rest
Smack Daddy's

I thought Schellenger's (one block off the boardwalk in Wildwood) was good for seafood with kids in tow. Very nautical theme.

Glad you came to us chowhounders -- I don't think much of Yelp! Sharkey's is a great place that is very. very casual -- I don't eat crabs but have seen folks dive into piles of them there. I go for their ribs. For another "outdoor" casual place off the boardwalk, Maui's Doghouse in North Wildwood is a must. They recently got featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, so they are busy, but worth the wait. Jersey Girl is a tad more formal (it is indoors) but very welcoming to families, I have nioticed, and the food is excellent.. Thos are the top three that DH and I will be heading to, when we arrive next week. Would be delighted to hear other suggestions myself, and will of course post a report on our return.

VFresser- We checked out a small place on the bay called Off the Hook Seafood http://www.hookedupseafood.com/ It is basically a nice food truck with picnic benches to eat at. The food was awesome! Our favorites were corn on the cob, clam chowder, steamers, and the fish tacos. We will be back again this week to check out the local crabs and fresh caught seared tuna. BYO
