Cafe Savor Broklyn

  • 4

Although we usually do not trust Great Kosher Restaurants reviews, we decided to visit Cafe Savor for the first time a few weeks ago, and thought the food and service was really good. What I wasnt sure about was the consistency of the dishes, so I did not write it up.
We went again last night for our anniversary- of course it was packed- and again it was delicious. Last time we got the mushroom risotto, a grilled cheese, and tortellini.
This time we got the grilled cheese (I would venture to say it is the best grilled cheese you will ever have), the rigatoni pasta (for once, in a kosher restaurant outside of Va Bene, the pasta was cooked Al Dente) and the Mac and Cheese )creamy stovetop style because DS was with us).
Portions are HUGE- we have enough left over for lunch and dinner today (!), but what really stood out to us was the owner. He CARES. He is the one running around filling your water glasses, filling in for the waiters and waitresses by clearing tables so other diners don't a) see a ton of mess around them and b) to seat others (although he was cleaning when there were several empty tables). He personally came over several times to check we were ok; his son (maybe co-owner?) offered DS and DH a small cubed brownie as we were paying and was so nice and chatty and smily. In a world where certain restaurant owners are arrogant and obnoxious, this made such a change. Highly recommend you go there.

  1. I don't think it's a matter of "trust;" Great Kosher Restaurants is an advertising medium; the "reviews" are written by the restaurants paying for their page in the guide.

I meant "trust" because of exactly the way you described it ;)

    2. Address? Phone number?
