August 9 and 10 available at Moulin Renaudiots between Beaune and Autun

We had to cancel our reservation for two nights and dinner at hard-to-book Moulin Renaudiots, located a few km east of Autun and 50km, an hour, west of Beaune.

If anyone will be in the area and looking for an outstanding maison d'hote, this golden opportunity might still be available.

Room booked is St. Andre on the ground floor with direct access to the garden and pool.

Dinner was reserved for Wednesday night.

(Enjoy, even if we can't.)

One month premature birth of our first grandchild?

I hope all is well with Mom, child, & Dad (& Grandparents). Premies can be stressful. Makes one grateful for excellent healthcare. A postponed trip is worth the joy. All the best!

Whoa, congratulations. I was wondering too.

I didn't see your announcement before posting my previous reply. Our very best wishes to the grandparents, parents and grandchild. Our 40 yr. old son was born 6 weeks prematurely but blossomed splendidly.

        2. Mangeur, I am so sorry to learn that you will miss experiencing Moulin Renaudiots and the table d'hotes dinner that Peter does for the guests on Wed. evenings. We stayed in the large ground floor suite that you had reserved while exploring the Morvan for a few days and were delighted with the homey ambiance and helpfulness of the owners Peter and Jan.

Mangeur, sorry you had to cancel, but we hope you will reschedule. We really enjoyed this place in mid September -- about a month after you would have been. Peter (Danish), a former clothing designer, is a fine cook, and he and Jan (Dutch) are hosts with a great gegree of style. Our table d'hote dinner with them (they were sitting at opposite ends of a beautiful table for 12) stared with Champagne in the garden at 19:30, and the last 5 of us called it quits after some cognac at about midnight. Unfortunately, the next morning, as we were talking with Peter about the challenges of doing the dinner 4 times a week, he mentioned that next year they will drop down to two per week -- Monday and Friday, I believe he said. Oh well, we also enjoyed Le Chapitre, in town. (And after dinner there, the proprietor confirmed our suspicion -- that Peter did their interior design.)

PS: We stayed in the St Andoche room on the second floor -- and having looked at the others, including the two ground floor rooms, this will continue to be our pick when we return, sooner than later, we hope (and including a Monday or Friday). -- Jake
