Boom, Westbrook, CT

I had asked for information on the Old Lyme thread (below) but decided maybe I should start a topic of its own?

Has anyone been to Boom lately? I was going to my standby Liv's Oyster Bar tomorrow night for a birthday, but thought I'd like to try something different.

I really like Boom. It's in a marina and the ambiance on the deck is very nice. My dw loves their fried oyster salad and I've had good luck with all of the fresh fish entrees I've ordered. That said, from a pure food perspective, Livs is better. But for a change of pace, and a nice alfresco experience, Boom is a good choice.

Haven't been there for awhile. Do they still have the clam chowder with sweet potatoes? Yum.

They do have the chowder w/sweet potatoes... if, if you can't get past the security guard to park your car.

Liv's is always my first choice, always plan on other restaurants but Liv's always wins out.

Please let us know if you go to Boom -- have not been for a couple of years but did enjoy it then,.
