The Source

There has been a lot in the British press recently about The Source in Washington. Is it all the reviews say it's cracked up to be? I'm spending three days in Washington at the end of the month and would like to go to a good restaurant...

We were very disappointed with our experience there, considering one of our all-time best experiences was at Puck's Spago in Beverly Hills.

Neither food nor the service was up to par. We had the place on our list for a long time and were very much let down, sorry to say. I'd like to chalk it up to an off night, but both of us having similar experiences is not a good sign.

I had an excellent dinner there as part of a work celebration. Very good and I was very glad I wasn't footing the bill.

I haven't been there for a full dinner but have done their happy hour many times...which ends up being a light dinner for me. It's definitely a great place for that. Everything I've had there has been really, really good.

Thinking about spending my 30th birthday at the Source this year btw.

I've been for lunch (excellent burger) and happy hour (great sushi roles and sliders) but never a full dinner. I hear wonderful things about the Source though.

You should! I love everything I've had there. Start with the shrimp and scallop siu mai, which are just wonderful wonderful. One of my favorite meals in the city. The lobster curry sauce makes me weep.
