Heading to Hershey, PA from CT this weekend. We will be traveling on RT 22 through Bethlehem and Allentown. Are there any must eat local foods or restaurants?

Noting your other posts. I'll keep my reccomendations casual,. rather than gourmet.
An excellent place for a great burger or other comfort food, including rthe best onion rings I have ever had(actually more like onion straws) is Werts Cafe at 515 N18th St in Allentown. They also have very good birch beer on draft. There is a thorough review, including pictures, on the Roadfood website.
Yoccos is a regionally famous small chain known for their chilidogs (Iam not a big fan , I find the chilli bitter). The closest to Route 22 is their Route 100 location, which is about 1/2 mile south of 78.
Bethlehem Brewworks is an excellant brewpub in downtown Bethlehem with very good beers(I especially like the Oatmeal stout) and good food.
Finally, although its not a restaurant Dietrichs Meats, in Krumsville and visible from 78 is an absolutely fabulous Pa Dutch butcher shop, which also sells many Pa Dutch preserves and baked goods. Absolutely worth a stop. www.dietrichsmeats.com

Thanks for the Dietrichs Meats tip. The place is great. Walked out of there with a couple of hundred dollars worth of great food. My favorite so far is the buffalo bologna. My wife's already fantastic meatballs were even better with their ground sirloin and pork. We also vacuum packed the majority of our purchases and will be enjoying them for months.
Thank you.

Lebanon bologna sandwitches, potato bread, Grandma utz potato chips [all found at local grocery stores]. And real handmade hard pretzels (the ones from gettysburg pretzel factory are good, and it's an easy drive).
