I have a friend who's dying for some millionaire's shortbread (shortbread covered with a thick layer of caramel then a layer of chocolate and cut into squares). Any idea where he can get some? He's wiling to travel the length and breadth of NYC to find some. All suggestions are much appreciated.

One of the many joys of visiting Scotland. I've never seen it in NYC.

Not sure if they carry it, but I'd try Butcher Block in Sunnyside where they carry a lot of products from Ireland.

I've never seen anything like that at Butcher's Block. Pie, yes. And packaged sweets. But as far as I have seen, the millionaire's shortbread is more of a bakery item. In Scotland.

The Baked cookbook has a recipe for it (the 1st one, not the 2nd), so the bakery itself might have it as well.

I've been to Baked several times and haven't encountered the millionaire's shortbread. I also do have the cookbook and find that I haven't come across many of the items that are in the book. But it never hurts to call and ask to see if they carry it. Even if they don't carry it, Baked does have some wonderful goods.
