Williamsburg --- Old Chicahomony house
It's Chickahominy, they get upset around here if you spell the name wrong. ;)
That being said, I've been there many times--I live in Richmond, my in-laws are in VA Beach and Williamsburg's kind of the halfway point. Very popular on weekends so be prepared to wait--fortunately there's a nice eclectic gift shop to browse as well as a porch with chairs and a swing. The food is decent. It's mostly a lunch place but it serves breakfast on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (get there before 10:15 if you want breakfast, they're super-strict about that). It has great baking powdered biscuits--not round and fat, but flat and kind of Pop Tart looking. Pretty much anything on the breakfast menu is good, although I'll warn that the Plantation Breakfast--eggs, Virginia ham, sausage, bacon, grits, a biscuit and coffee or tea--is a LOT of food. It does a good Brunswick stew as well. I'd stay away from the sandwiches in favor of the Brunswick stew or the ham and biscuits. And if apple pie's on the menu grab it, it's fantastic. Service is good and prices are reasonable. It's not OMG THE MOST AWESOME FOOD EVER but the atmosphere is nice. Plus if you're a cat person you can say hi to and pet the resident cat Miss Melinda, who likes to sleep in a display case at the front of the gift shop.
