In search of satisfying peach ice cream...

I just love peach ice cream, but buying it can be as frustrating as finding peaches that aren’t tasteless or mealy. I grew up addicted to Breyers, but now it’s so pumped full of air I pitched my last batch. Tried Blue Bell’s a couple of years ago but my recollection is of a distinctly non-peachy taste – merely hunks of fruit suspended in a bland ice cream. Once on a trip to Philly I flipped over Bassett’s at their Reading Market counter, but when I later found it in pints I thought it was meh. Now I’ve homed in on Ben & Jerry’s Peach Cobbler and think it’s the best I’ve ever tasted – so my question is, is there anything just as good available in a more economical half gallon? (Some of you are bound to recommend homemade, but I’d really like to find a dependable brand.)
