Groceries in Biloxi

In an attempt to help a friend who lives in Biloxi to learn to cook and save some money, I was rather surprised to see how expensive groceries are there. He said Winn Dixie is basically the only grocery store and I looked at their weekly ad last night and the food advertised is even more expensive than here in the metro DC area!

Do any Biloxi residents have a better place to shop?

Don't know if the prices will be any lower, but the quality will be much higher at Rouses. There is one at 1345 East Pass Road in Gulfport and one at 3164 Bienville Blvd. in Ocean Springs.

Thank you so much. I'll suggest this as an alternative to WD. Looking at their weekly ad just now, I'm not sure if their prices are great either, but quality is important.
