Went - it was good. Lines were surprisingly tame, although the food definitely ran out by ~1-ish. It's basically what you would get at ad hoc on Monday nights.

We went and the chicken was very good. However, I thought it wasn't quite as excellent as the fried chicken served inside at Ad Hoc. The skin wasn't quite as crispy, and overall, the flavor was a bit off from what I remembered. Don't get me wrong, though - it was still very good. My friends, who haven't been to Ad Hoc, thought it was the best fried chicken they've had.

The plate included 3 pieces of chicken, and sides of corn and potato salad. The sides, especially the corn, were tasty. But I couldn't finish them because of course, I had to eat all the chicken! I got all dark pieces on my plate (score!), but others got a combination of dark and white. I really wanted to try the orange creamsicle, but I couldn't eat any more!

We went on a Thursday a little after noon, and we were surprised that there were only a couple of people in line.

Would they do all white / all dark by request?

Did you just happen to get all dark meat, or did you specifically request it?

I just happened to get it. So since I don't like white meat, I was thrilled. All the others in our group of four got a mixture. I imagine you could request it. The lunch boxes were delivered by someone coming from the direction of the restaurant. So I "assume" they assemble the boxes in the Ad Hoc kitchen.

We'll be stopping by in a couple of weeks. Any recommendations on a good place nearby to eat it? Or would we be stuck eating in the car?

There are picnic tables surrounding the location where you can dine.

I had the chicken lunch yesterday and have decided it is not worth it. The chicken is good, yes, but with a half-bottle of water, the $20 price tag is too pricy.

The mashed potatoes were COLD, the succotash is flavorful but only six bites or so worth, and the cornbread exceptional. The flavor of the chicken is moist and tender and the buttermilk breading is lovely, but I just am not convinced it is worth the price.

Is there enough in one order for 2 people to share?

I think it would depend on the appetite. The small containers of potatoes and succotash were not completely full. I threw away the potatoes because they were cold (I mean, from the REFRIGERATOR cold!) and could have eaten double the succotash.

I also got three pieces of dark meat and one was a wing, so the thigh and leg was the most substantial part of my meal. I suppose if you were lucky enough to get a breast, it might be enough for two for a snack...

The cornbread was about 3" long and 1" square - about four bites total.

I bet the "mashed" potatoes were really potato salad, which was why it was cold. As I have seen the menu ,and it is always potato salad, not mashed potatoes listed there. But from some of the pix I have seen, they do look like mashed potatoes. Sounds like it is not as chunky as potato salad normally is.

We got there at 11:15 today (Saturday). There was a bit of a line by the time we got there, but it moved quickly and we got our food within about 10 minutes, as promised. The garden was nice, with tomatoes and pepper and other plants growing. Nice picnic tables. However, I'd have to add my voice to the "not quite worth it" contingent. We drove about 1 1/2 hours to get there, and the fried chicken, while good, was not drive 1 1/2 hours out of your way good. I found it a little over salted to my taste and not very remarkable - perhaps after the long drive, my expectations were too high.

We'd also planned to go to Bouchon Bakery afterwards, only to find out that they are closed until further notice because of a fire. I don't blame really them, but it was a fact that the server at Addendum, whom I'd asked for directions to the bakery, didn't seem to know.
