I am heading into New Jersey for a really short time, can't make it up to NYC anyone suggest anything food or pub near the Summerset/Bridewater area?

  1. Thai Kitchen - North Bridge Street - Bridgewater
Verve - Main Street - Somerville (Eclectic American)
Origin Thai - Division Street - Somerville
    Martino's - Main Street - Somerville ( Casual Cuban)
Shumi - S. Doughty Ave - Somerville (Excellent Sushi)

    A plethora of chains:
    Buffalo Wild Wings

    Cheesecake Factory

    That should get you started.

    Shumi Restaurant

Thank you Menton. I cringed when I saw the chain recs. I mean, aren't they everywhere? Like your Sophie's recommendation as well as Gastro's Origin and Shumi. They are the very very best in the immediate Bridgewater/Somerset area (being 10 minutes of less for the most part).

Then there's New Brunswick and the wonderful Italian that is Du Marie, or the New American, Stage Left, etc.

        Stage Left
5 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901

        Shumi Restaurant
        30 S. Doughty Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876

      2. Going upscale, The Pluckemin Inn is excellent. If you're dining solo, their tavern room & menu is a great place for a well prepared cocktail and great food.

        The Pluckemin Inn
        359 US Highway 202, Bedminster, NJ 07921

The Chimney Rock in has good food and Pizza and is like a pub kind of atmosphere.

Manville BBQ is a little take out joint, but has awesome food. It's Uraguian BBQ, similar to Portuguese.

        2. I don't know how far you're willing to go, but this thread covered a ton of eats in the edison/new brunswick area, which is pretty close to where you will be:
