Nashville - Chinese Restaurant with Cold Sesame Noodles

  • 5
  • Share

I've been a Nashville resident for 7 years off and on and have yet to find a Chinese restaurant that offers decent cold sesame noodles on the menu - you know the kind with the thick, creamy peanut-ty sauce, cold julienned cucumbers, sesame seeds and sliced scallions on top?

Have I just not looked hard enough? Does anyone have a recommendation? I'm jonesing for a fix.

  1. Good Chinese food unfortunately does not exist in Nashville. I've had friends tell they've had varying success @ Golden Coast's weekend buffet which offers authentic items.

I've yet to try it myself, but from the reviews Lucky Bamboo doesn't seem to be a good recommendation.

Driving to Atlanta would probably be your best option at this point.

Lucky Bamboo has very good food, probably the best Chinese cooking in Nashville. Their service is remarkably slow, though. And they don't have the cold noodles on the menu.

    2. Thanks for the recommendations. We ran over to Golden Coast for a quick brunch today - I'd been during the week and was clueless on their weekend offerings. Loved the "peach buns" (steamed with red bean paste filling). Will keep my eyes open for a cold sesame noodle place until I get un-lazy enough to make it myself.

The small local chain Fulins has a separate chinese menu (written only in chinese). Not sure about the noodles but I would ask them

Great suggestion! Been to Fulin's a few times when we lived in B'wood - never knew about the Chinese-only menu. Will have to ask next time. Thanks for the info!
