We will be spending Rosh Hashona in Silver Spring, Maryland. Our daughter is a full time student and we would like to help with the food preparations. Since we are from out of town I would appreciate any suggestions as to locations I could pre-order food for the Yom Toivim. I have seen on line a place called Eden Cake. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can also check out the Vaad of Washington DC and the Star-K website which should have listings.

Thank you for the information. Since I am not familiar with any of the establishments it would be very helpful if I could get recommendations, good and bad, from people who have tried their foods. Were they reliable, did they stick to agreed pricing, do they deliver - all these things are important!

The best food by far in the area is Pomegranate Grill in Potomac MD. They have a restaurant and a 'marketplace' where you can buy prepared foods. The restaurant is one of those places you can be proud to take gentile friends.

I don't know if they deliver but they are very professional overall. My guess is that if anyone local delivers, they would.

Kosher Mart/Moti's grill is a distant second choice. I'd rank Shalom Group a very distant third.

Please consider ordering baked goods from Sunflower Bakery. Sunflower is a bakery that trains people with special needs to be bakers' assistants. All their products are kosher under the va'ad, parve and absolutely delicious!
