Carolina Kitchen in Sparks

We had a Chowhound outing at Carolina Kitchen this evening. Allie (from Incline), Ernie, Jim, Bill (from Tahoe), and Bill and Linda from Reno came together to try the Friday night Fish Fry at Carolina Kitchen.

By the time we were done, we had tried lots of things, all of which were quite good. The catfish in particular was excellent, and we also had cod, chicken, ribs, pulled pork (a little dry, but good with sauce), hush puppies, cole slaw, onion rings, and french fries. And some of us even had beer!

Tahoe Bill also tried the peach cobbler dessert and enjoyed it. Everyone agreed that it was a nice outing. Some pictures are posted below.

  1. This was a nice evening out. I went with the cod and chips, but thought the breading was way too heavy and overwhelming on the fish. The breading was too greasy for me.

On the other hand, Bill let me try his catfish and boy, did that taste good. Much lighter and less greasy. I want to come back and give the fish another try, as well as try the pulled pork, which looked delicious.

Interesting note: RC Cola is available here, no Coke or Pepsi.
