I need suggestions!

I will be staying downtown at the Hyatt on H and 14th. Is there anywhere I can get some good food? I am cheap, adventurous, and lacking my own transportation. I will be in town from Thursday to Monday. Shellfish and grilled things are my current cravings. Not into really long waits or spendy options unless it's really worth it; then I have the patience of a saint and a decent credit limit

Thanks for the suggestions!

My favorite place is Oohhs and Ahhs for Coastal Carolina Soul Food. Although a total dive, it's not super cheap, either. Get the shrimp and grits with grilled vegetables on the side. 4 stools in front of a tiny kitchen, right across the street form the U St/Cardozo metro stop.

Check out the new Luke's Lobster Shack for a lobster or other roll. I've heard rave reviews. Not cheap though.
In that neighborhoodish, I would maybe try the lunch bar special thing (entree and wine for $13??) at Proof, sandwich to go from Cowgirl Creamery (yummy cheese) at lunch, Pret a Manger (I like the sandwiches and dessert bars here), Urfa Tomato Kabob, G Street Foods (weekday lunch only). Also Paul for French sandwiches and pastries at the Archive metro. And Taylor Gourmet for amazing hoagie sandwiches at Mt. Vernon Square. These are all very affordable.
