Re-using a Marinade

We all know not to re-use chicken and beef marinades.

But, have you heard of a problem re-using a (garlic-herb) marinade for salmon?

  1. Has this marinade already been used on the salmon? If so, that falls under the category of handling any protein. So, no, I would not, unless I boiled the marinade after using it, which is deemed safe handling by the USDA:

My personal rule of thumb: I make extra, set it aside, and toss the marinade that was used with the protein.

Oop's, now you might not have so much fun with food. Hope you'll be ok, and live to tell. Anyways, now you know, here's hoping there's next time! ;-)
