Thank You so much. We had a delightful meal on the terrace at the Black Trumpet. The food was wonderful. I adored Spring Lake - I had never had the pleasure before. I look forward to returning when I visit the east coast again next summer.

So glad you liked it!! Next time try Whispers in Spring Lake. I recently had the pleasure of dinning there and it was fabulous!

Black Trumpet has always been a hit whenever I suggest it!

Whispers in on the Restaurant.com coupon site. Wouldn't dine there otherwise, food overprice and the atmosphere it abit on the "stuffy" side. Have often seen local resident/author Mary Higgins Clark there. Tends to drawn an older crowd. Black Trumpet, Brandl's in Belmar, or even Daniel's Bistro in PPB...reservations a must.

Hello Angelina! Looking to try a new place. What is more appropriate for a date night with my better half? I am thinking Whispers. What say you?

And a odd Non-Chow related question. How is the parking? Just got a new ride, my mid-life crisis Corvette (woo hoo) and I am pretty particular about where park it.

Sorry for the delay, Angelo..just got my cable and internet service back today!! :)

I recently tried Whispers for the first time a month ago, and I just loved it!! The crowd is a bit older than The Black Trumpet, but that did not matter because the food was outstanding and the service was GREAT! (no rush-rush) Congrats on your Corvette! (You little Guido!! hee hee) ANyway, parking is great @ Whsipers. On the street, but you can park further down the residential street it's on and have no problem! We parked on that street very close and actually, people who parked in front of us and behind us were very courteous and left so much space in between. (in other words..no Hoboken parking here!)

The Black Trumpet we just went for lunch with my mother, sister and all the kids. We really like that place, too. I think Whispers is great and I would stick with that choice, Angelo. I want to go back just to have the lobster dinner I had! So good! 1 1/2 pound lobster out of shell...gotta love a place that takes the work out! My husband had the sea bass and was excellent!

Have fun where ever you go! Don't forget to armor-all your tires, too! :)

Haha Thanks! Couldn't get a reservation! Silly me, it is Labor day w/e. So we are heading to the Bay Avenue Trattoria in the Highlands. But Whispers will be on my short list. Really really looking forward to Chefs Table at Nicholas for our anniversary at the end of the month. SO Whispers will have to wait until October.

That's ok, definately try the place! Let me know how Bay Avenue is. It is on my list, but I just always hate driving to that area for some reason. I feel like I am in the car FOREVER!! Anyway...enjoy!

We were just there for a few days and had dinner at Union Landing in Brielle, which is about 10 minutes away. I had crab cakes that were very good and my husband had stuffed lobster which he enjoyed.
