Cheap kebaberies and grillades shops on CDN
I've heard good things about Farhat but I never went. Today I tried a merguez sandwich for 3.50$tax incl. at le marche d'alimentation le Mediterranean and it was quite good. The bread was your typical commercial french roll, nothing special there. The merguez had good flavor, were quite juicy, and the casing seemed kinda crispy/fresh (I didn't ask whether it was a natural casing or not). The condiments available are tomato sauce, harissa, pickled eggplants?, tomato, olives and lettuce.
I was wondering how do places like Farhat and that place next to Sindibad compare

I lived right next to the original Farhat for a year, and I went there very often! I thought it was very tasty, pretty cheap and quite fast. They have a nice selection, and while I never tried all of the choices, all the ones I had were pretty good. It can get quite crowdy at lunch time though, so I would suggest not going between noon and 12:30. I also had a couple of bad experiences at the new Farhat on Swail, although that was right when it opened. Don't ever take the fries they offer, they're not good at all.
As for Sindibab, never tried kebabs there, but the shish taouk (chicken shawarma) is pretty good.
I tried Farhat today for a quick lunch. The merguez sandwich is huge and a great deal at $4 tax in. the bread is nothing special but it's nice that they grill it. There's a another grilladerie next to them , apparently turkish: Kebab Express. Has anybody tried it? How is Sindibad while we a re on the topic.
