Nighttime Coffee/Cocktails?

Where in the Cities can one get not-outrageously-priced booze and coffee, with a fun and romantic atmosphere? I really dig the Bar La Grasa vibe, but am looking for a new place that's a little more relaxed.

  1. Calrifying question: Cocktails/Booze means you want hard liquor places (as opposed to beer and wine places)? And not outrageous = ???

Bradstreet Crafthouse has a very cool vibe. Very relaxed. And the back room has great furniture for getting romantic. Go to their web site and click on the link for the 601 menu. Great cocktails for $6.01 serverd from 11pm to close, but Tuesday through Thursday only.

Good point - the boyfriend is definitely a beer drinker, so somewhere with a couple taps would be great. "Not outrageous" is probably up to $6/7.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think we'll have to check out Bradstreet Crafthouse next time. Looks great.

2 places in romantic st. anthony main, with patio seating and nice atmosphere, with good coffee + alcohol would be aster cafe, and the new wilde roast-- which i admit i haven't been to, but the old one was a great coffee shop/wine bar for when both types of bev were required. aster actually has pretty good food for very reasonable prices, from what i've had, and a great patio, very mellow and romantic vibe. dh and i split a very decent $6 sandwich, and the server kindly split it onto 2 plates with salad greens for us. i also like the fresh squeezed juices there.

    2. O'donovan's has a great vibe and it is great for dates. Lots of couples there.
The Kitty Cat Klub is really cute in Dinkytown along with The Loring Pasta Bar next door.

O'Donovan's across from First Ave? If it is the same place: I have been there before and after shows at First Ave, but it's full of very very intoxicated people frequently singing karaoke. Last time I was there a frat boy puked on my foot.

Oh crap! I meant The Local. The bar with red interior near Britts. Not that Irish pub next to first ave though I have been there for st. patty's day before and they had drink tickets and a large outdoor patio area set up... never went back. I meant The Local! Thanks for the catch.
