Bald Head Island - any suggestions for good food?

Husband, teenager and I are heading to Bald Head Island at the end of August for the first time. I have heard that the restaurants there are overpriced and the food isn't very good. Wondering if anyone has found restaurants worth checking out? And is there a decent market to get food to cook or do we need to bring it with us? Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank...

Simple answer is no good options but island market (the grocery) does a decent job with breakfast. The selection is okay but it's kind of like food lion items at whole foods prices. This is generalization and you can get decent meat, middling produce and surprisingly (for an island) weak seafood unless there was a fishing event on the weekend. Wine selection is decent for new world tastes but not for small european producers.

Thanks, Tommio. That's what I have been hearing. I appreciate the report.

Take whatever you can. Cooking in the houses there is the way to go. Very limited restaurants on Bald Head. The club on the ocean side has the best food that I have eaten on Bald Head.

Thanks wineandcheese. Do you know if the ocean side club is the Shoals Club or the Bald Head Island Club?

That is the Shoal's Club. Pretty good but i would not want to eat there every night.
