Caterer NJ
Can someone please recommend a caterer who can do an inexpensive drop off job? Not looking for a Sammy's/ EJ's type gig- something a little more upscale possibly with set-up included. Looking to spend around $15-20 a person based on 60 people, so that puts me out of the Foremost/ Prestige etc catering.
Basically looking for make your own salad, dip stuff, candy buffet, breads, cheese platters, juices, fancy pastries/cakes, fruit, possibly borekas etc- all cold stuff. Is this unreasonable for a buffet in the range of $20 p.p? If yes, what is an amount that seems more reasonable? If not, can I be recommended someone who is either in NJ or even in Brooklyn who might consider coming to NJ to do this??

You might want to check Reuben's Glatt spot in West Orange or Jerusalem in Livingston. I have used Reuben's to cater a Shabbat and it was excellent, but it was meat and I don't know how they are on a drop off.
Not sure if $20 p.p is feasible as it seems a little low for what you are asking, but I am far from an expert.›2 Replies
