Recurring intermitten problems with Restaurant entry and links

Over the last week or so I have had a number of problems with data entry and linking.

For example I entered a "review" of Latteria San Marco in MIlano through the discussion board, using the "this is a review of a particular restaurant" feature, and adding a star rating. The review and the link registered, but the review did not. I subsequently cut and pasted it onto the restuarant's page.

I have already reported adding a number of links in replies to posts that failed to register. Usually this was during the course of multiple edits of a single post. I now see that even through the manage links bar does not come up in an edit screen, you can keep adding links through over-writing the old entry in the add a restaurant space, as long as the links are registering below.. I think it would be clearer if the name of the restaurant in the data entry space went away once the name of the restaurant was added.

I also added the address of a restaurant to an Oslo thread, but it seems not to have registered.

Odd. How long were you waiting on the review to show up? There is a little delay between posting and the review appearing. Alternatively, did you type select the restaurant's name from the drop-down or simply type it and move on? I've noticed that review creation will fail if I paste a name into the box or type it out without selecting one of the options that appear.

Lastly, it looks like this restaurant and your post were created at about the same time- did you create the restaurant's entry from Chowhound as you were writing the post/review? I've noticed some weirdness in testing when the restaurant doesn't already exist when a new post is started.

I didnt check it til yesterday, several days after creating the post..

the restaurant entry was already in place before i posted, probably several months back as I was creating the Milan database.

When I posted I selected it from the dropdown and the link appears (as you cansee) but the review did not show up on the restaurant page. I actually only noticed the issue because I went back to the Restaurant page to refresh my recollection on background.

Ah, my mistake, I mixed up the time stamps on your posts. This is definitely not a restaurant-creation issue.

I'm not able to reproduce the problem at this time, but I'll keep looking. Thank you for your patience, and my apologies for the trouble.
