Good burger near grand central?

I am arriving in new York on Thursday after 4 months abroad and I am craving a good burger. I will be heading out to white plains from grand central but will have time for a lunch around there. I will have a few bags so it may be akward to sit in a restaurant. Any places fit the bill?

Mj's is looking like the choice for me. After a 20 hour trip, convince will reign supreme.
        I will report back.

GoodBurger on 43rd and 2nd Avenue is one of the best in the city. Thicker than a Shake Shack fast food-like burger. Onion Rings are lousy.

Seconded! Goodburger is the next best thing to Shake Shack with a muchmuch shorter line. And great shakes, too!

Junior's in the food court makes an excellent burger. If you want to walk a few blocks with your bags head down Lexington & 39th to Black Shack burger. They have a gourmet patty type burger that is excellent.
A couple of blocks down on Lex and 37th is Rare which has a burger that will knock your socks off.

I second Rare. Worth the short walk.

Many of these places will be difficult to maneuver with "a few bags." Especially Five Guys -- it's hard enough to get a seat there at lunchtime. I think Rare is your best bet, not only are the burgers great but it's in a hotel, so I bet you could check your bags at the bellstand for a tip. There used to be a place to check bags at GCT, but it disappeared during the renovations.

I don't like Black Shack at all. The burgers don't have much flavor and the fries are nothing special.

Never been to MJs. Another option nearby is Capital Grille. Very good burger and fries at the bar for $15 at lunch. Not sure how they handle luggage but they are very close to CGT and have a coat check so I suspect they've seen it before.

I've not been, but if you are craving and need to stay n the vicinity of GC, then how about Michael Jordan's Steakhouse in Grand Central? Almost all steakhouse burgers that I've had were more than decent. How bad can it be?

I, too, crave insanely for burgers after a long stretch of travel to countries where burgers are not part of their culinary specialties.

If you crave the non-steakhouse ones, and have enough time to do it, then you can make a quick trek to Five Guys along 3rd Ave and 44th. While it's not near the top of my local burger preference list, it's got its fans to

Responding to my own post. Looking at a hamburger today it looks like zaitzeff and bills bar and burgers are both reasonably close. Are either of those good options?
