Maialino Happy Hour

Stopped in for a glass of wine last week. Very easy to get a seat at the bar, especially in this weather. They have a few $5 glasses of wine available (one red, one white, and one rose IIRC).

I ordered a glass of red wine ($12 -- I chose a non-discounted one off of the full list), with a single deviled egg with anchovy and crunchy breadcrumbs ($2), and a lamb meatball served with rosemary and olives ($3). I was brought the bread basket, as well, with a plate of olive oil. Delicious.

Happy hour is Monday - Friday, 5pm-7pm.

  1. Thanks - I've been dying to try Maialino's happy hour. (Unfortunately I've been dying in the heat instead.) Did you get a sense of whether you could you put together a light dinner from their happy hour food? If so, it sounds like a perfect summer meal.

Decide for yourself - with photos too:

Yes -- the blog reports/photos all seem to be from a much smaller menu (maybe they expanded it after it first started -- can't find a PDF anywhere though). The happy hour menu they handed me had more like 8-9 items it, some much more substantial (and expensive) than the two I chose. But I think you could still do alright with the deviled eggs, pizza rustica, meatballs, and bread basket.

I saw the spread in SE when it was published, and I was actually about to write a post asking what people liked at Maialino's happy hour when Kathryn posted this. It looks great and I was wondering why nobody had written about it.

      2. Nice!...i love their deviled eggs...most of my meals there have been in the late afternoon, and they have been yummy albeit a bit pricey...this happy hour could be just the thing (and it's also within a few hundred yards of my home)
