The 9 Salsa recipes in the Aug/Sept Saveur

Glencora Jul 24, 2011 12:02 PM

I just made the Guacamole Taquero (Taco-Shop Guacamole). It's very good and very easy -- uncooked and thrown into a blender.

Has anyone tried any of the other recipes? The Burnt Chipotle looks good. Tomatillo and Pineapple, not so much.

Then there are all those pesto recipes.... Good issue.

It looks great. Did you use the allspice berries? I don't have any -- do you think they're important?

The one I've tried is more about shopping than cooking -- since I don't always have tomatillos around. Chop and throw in blender:

        8oz Tomatillos, 1/2 cup cilantro, 1 T lime juice, 1 t salt, 2 cloves garlic, 2 serrano chilies, 1 avocado, 1/2 small white onion.

        It's a keeper.
