Bagels in Birmingham?

I'm looking for bagels in Bham. Boiled, chewy bagels. I don't expect to find bagels similar to those I'd find in NY or Boston, but a close approximation will do. Thanks.

I don't think anyone in town has made real, boiled bagels since the Bagel Factory in Cahaba Heights closed.

      A business opportunity.

Not just closed. But Bagel Factory closed the week before we moved to the neighborhood. We were excited while we were negotiating/closing on the house, only to find the shop closed by the time the moving truck arrived with our stuff.

Oh, good. You probably remember when it was exactly, then. I was trying to remember the approximate time it closed and couldn't. Bagel Factory was the bagels I grew up on.

I've only had the bagels at Crestline Bagel and Big Blue Bagel. Neither are particularly great when compared with bagels found in the Northeast. They taste just baked, not boiled. Truly sad.

Thanks. I won't even spend the time or gas, then. A bagel isn't really a bagel if not boiled, is it?
