So for years I'd been recommending the potato pancakes at Nate N' Al's in Beverly Hills because I remembered them to be of the thin and crispy variety. Last night I visited and they were not particularly thin (quite thick actually), so I was disappointed.

Where can I go for guaranteed thin and crispy? I can't wait for my mom to make them in Decemeber

You might like Original Pancake House. Also try the buttermilk. Be early or you will wait. See the link.

At Dinah’s the potato pancakes are not really thin but the Swedish pancakes are more thin and crispy (not made with potato).

I have been eating at Nate N Als for over 20 years and I can tell you that the latkes have never been thin...the only place in town to get thin latkes is in your own kitchen. When made at a deli they are large and thick.

Good luck
