Matoi Sushi in Coquitlam...Is it the Same as the one that was DT?

I noticed there's a Matoi Sushi in Coquitlam in the area of the Coquitlam Centre Mall. I was curious to see if it's the same crew as the one that operated the Matoi sushi in the H-Mart food court downtown?

The sushi was above average / good and was a solid lunch destination at the old Matoi in the H-Mart.

The chef was focused and attentive to the food he was making. I always ordered the spicy charashi; even in the take-out container it was very pretty and he did give you more exotic types of fish (albeit in smaller amounts).

Does anyone know if it's the same chef? At the H-mart location the chef was bald and Korean.

Coquitlam is a bit of trek for me. Any intel would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yup that's the one. And the owner promised me he'd be finding a location in Vancouver. Sigh. Coquitlam is lucky.

This great to know as I'm one of the lucky ones that lives in Coquitlam...;-). We usually frequent Sushi Bar Shyun in Poco which is run by a husband and wife Japanese couple but it's good to know there is now another option in the area.....will be trying it soon!!
