A-freakingmazing German bread in Metro Detroit

While visiting my parents in clinton township this summer, I had to make frequent stops to Rheinland Bakery in clinton township. This little place, right across the street from the macomb county jail is pumping out some of the best bread I've eaten since my last visit to german. Their super-seedy multi-grain bread (Vollcornbrot) makes me swoon as does their sweet yogurt bread (Quarkstuben) and their assorted rolls (Broetchen.) They also sell around the area at farmers markets & veggie palaces (Vince & joes).

For 10 years, I lived in the metro NYC area and haven't found ANYTHING even close the quality of bread they sell at Rheinland. Detroiters, consider yourself lucky.

We actually do pretty well around this area for many different (and sometimes unique) ethnic foods, some of which just aren't available anywhere else in the country. I think your suggestion would be another of the type.

Agree with you there, Boagman. I haven't found any arabic/lebanese food outside the DTW area that rivals even the crappiest local Pitahut. Have to get my schwarma fix everytime I visit.

Yep. A bit pricey but very, very good.
