Best Sushi place in OC-Is there a new restaurant?

  • 1

Hi everyone,
I'm new here but I have found this forum valuable in the past. I recall that I saw an old facebook comment about a new restaurant for Sushi that opened up in OC. Supposedly it started with an A or something and I believe it was in the South OC region. Any tips or if you guys can decipher what I'm talking about I'd appreciate it. I'm taking out a very picky relative who is extra picky when it comes to food.

Thanks in advance guys!

  1. I can't recall anything with an A popping up in a discussion of top sushi bars in OC. My faves are (in order):

San Shi Go on Balboa Peninsula
    Maki Zushi in Tustin
    Bluefin in Newport Coast

Though I have not been, Sushi Shibucho get a lot of mentions, as does Wasabi in Tustin, though it also gets a few mixed replies.

All of these are in the $100 or more pp range, though Maki has a 'regular' sushi menu that is a lot less expensive. The good stuff, the reason I go, is for the variety of fish on the specials board posted by the sushi bar.

Here is a long thread on sushi behind the Orange Curtain:
