  1. Unfortunately, I think that particular location has a problem with Alma traffic, as a Southbound driver will have to cross Alma to enter the plaza. No problem for Northbound drivers getting into the plaza, but getting out, they will have to battle with the drivers wanting to come in.

Palo Alto is already so full of boutique grocery retailers (Mollie Stones, Andronico's, Country Sun, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Sigona, and the like) that one does have to wonder whether or not there's a need for Miki's to fill.

I am curious how it will do. Andronico's closes Sunday, but their produce was not great. Whole Foods Palo Alto stresses me out whenever I go and the selection is poor. I love Sigona's but the PA location is limited on organic. Mollie Stone's is fairly high priced as is Piazza's. Piazza's has the best selection of produce I have found beyond Sigona's, but the staff is abysmally ignorant of what they have (my first visit I tried to ask for pea shoots and they were perplexed) - and their prices are fairly high.

So I can see a nitch for them to fill, especially serving south Palo Alto.

Not if they install a traffic light! I'm totally excited about it! Mollie stones bakery and deli is not very appealing. Whole Food is expensive and from what I heard this store is going to have great pricing. I only go into Sigona for the dired fruit and that's it! And Trader Joe's I rarely go into there. This store will be a great location for me... I'm excited!!!
