    1. Are you looking specifically for a restaurant in the South Bay?

        1. Yes I am looking to cater from a restaurant if possible from South Bay to save on delivery charges.

          1. Try Shalimar in Fremont...not a fan of their veg dishes, but quite happy with many non-veg offerings. There's also little Rajjot in Sunnyvale...solid, reasonably priced food. Good rotis & parathas (love the methi). Oh, one other place you might try is Taste Buds in Sunnyvale.

Catered parties we've enjoyed in the past couple years have had food from Chaat Paradise, Mtn. View & Udupi Sunnyvale. Latter sets up food & makes dosas on site which is a big hit with guests but may be out of price range.

Edit: realized haven't tried veg at Shalimar...have been disappointed at other Indo-Pak restos.

Thanks for the recommendations ceekshat!! I agree about shalimar but for a party the food is too oily I feel. We do find it tasty for occasional tandoori chicken etc :) I havent heard of Taste buds, how is it? Do you recommend any specific food there? Please let me know. I will check with them. Their prices look similar to Spice hut.

I've been only to lunch buffets* at Taste Buds at which time they seem to offer more Andhra style dishes than what's on their menu. I've found these (both chicken & veg.) to be the tastiest, not that other items are bad. Actually, their naan is pretty good too. I strongly urge you to try out the food before committing so you know exactly what to expect.

Have you been/heard of Rajjot? Considering Taste Buds & Rajjot are only a few miles apart, please do try both. Lunch plates at the latter are a great value (can feed two people) & one of the few places where I've found the food to be consistent over the years.

*Did goat meat takeout once & though it was tasty, found more bones than meat.
