ST. LOUIS kosher

I have not been on here in quite some time and listings seem rather new for me. I am attempting to find a kosher deli or restaurant in the St. Louis area. I do not have any facility to utilize a supermarket and do prefer a place to actually sit down for a meal. I Will be staying at the Four Seasons, so something in that general area would be great. Any suggestions?

Thank you all for your rapid responses with updated information. We have utilized Kohns in the past and they are pretty good for lunch take out but not open for dinner. It is such a pity that so many towns/cities had such large Jewish populations and over the years the kosher establishments are simply gone. Worse yet are the ones that have Jewish names, magen david on the windows and such and yet are not kosher at all. But again, thank you for the input.

The JCC has an outdoor fleishig concession in the summertime which is open evenings (they also have a dairy cafe open for lunch in the summer and all day the rest of the year).

I believe that VegaDeli is no longer under the Vaad.

Here is the list from the ST Louis Va'ad - http://www.ovkosher.org/a/consumer-eateries

Kohns Kosher Market has seating area and has good food - http://www.kohnskosher.com/

and whole heartedly make Ted Drewes a stop - it is a St Louis main stay and a classic - the BEST Frozen Custard -

The bad part is none of these are near the Four Seasons as they are in suburbs east of downtown St Louis

Well make a night of it at the Loop! Get tickets to Blueberry Hill to see Chuck Berry (1st Wednesday of the month and you will have to buy tickets from someone local on Craig's List) and go out to eat. They have a nice parking lot just off the Loop and it's perfectly safe.

I happen to have a teenage resident of St. Louis sitting and watching soccer in my kitchen.

He says there are only two kosher restaurants in St. Louis. One is a vegan place called Vega Deli in Chesterfield (west of the city) which he says is not too good and an Indian place called Gokul which is very good. It's located in the Loop near Wash U. But don't miss Ted Drewe's frozen custard! (He also said that he's not sure that the Mrs. Field's is kosher any more.)

        Hope that helps.
