birthday dinner in Red Bank or surrounding area

Looking for a casual yet tasty spot to take a friend for her birthday dinner. Suggestions?
TIA Adi

We recently enjoyed an early casual dinner at Navoo Grill in Fair Haven. And while some of the past CH reviews haven't been great; our meal was delicious. I hadn't been there in about a year and took a chance.

We ordered fresh crab BLT's, Lobster Cobb Salad, Cheeseburgers with homemade chips and a nice selection of wine at 1/2 price (which might have been an early bird special on wine by the glass) in a lovely mission styled restaurant (no particular view out the windows, but tasteful decor inside). And if you enjoy strolling after a meal the town of Fair Haven offers a nice main street to walk.

I have to say, I was never a huge fan of Navoo either, but went about two months ago with girlfriends and we had drinks and shared a bunch of salads and apps and it was very good. Nice to have a close place like this to count on (if it can be consistent!). Otherwise, Dish is casual by Mr. Bingley's definition, and delicious. I enjoy Teak on half price Mondays!

Depends on your definition of 'casual', I guess, (to me that's a pair of khakis and a collared golf shirt) but I like Red a lot.

slightly more casual is basil t's, which has very good food as well.

So many options you need to narrow it down some. Price range? Cuisine types? Ambiance?
