Spending a couple of nights at the Ocean House next week. First time in Watch Hill - where should we eat? Looking for the highest-end cuisine/quality....

Olympia Tea Room is right in Watch Hill. Ocean House is expensive, very small portions. Close by is Stonington with some very good restaurants.

I will be the first to agree its expensive but the gentleman seems not too interested in price. The SOus Vide work there is great most restaurants dont or cannot do it correctly or at least legally. The portions are very small maybe thats why we have so many plump people around because all they like is pile it up

Are you saying that because I do not want an appetizer portion for dinner I am probably "plump"? I have spoken to many people about dinner at The Ocean House and not one review was good. Price really is not the issue. I don't mind paying for a great meal.

I would never say anything like that to you. It seems that this gentleman has no problem in accessing dinner at no price, but IMO in that area including that any place can compare with the type of food the Ocean House prepares. Well the place is crazy reservations are a must one of my faculty people who works there and is very food and wine savy said the place is busy as hell. I dont have not been there in all honesty. Reason being there isnt anything on the menu that I can duplicate. But the place is georgous.

I'm sorry, I was sort of just teasing you! Ocean House is beautiful! You can't beat that beach! We like to go there for a drink.

I was told the same about the Hermitage Inn in VT. and found ample portions of food that would be less than Boston. Eat and enjoy.

I love the Olympia tea room . Have a dusty miller sundae for dessert.

Thank you. We are going to try the Ocean House for one dinner. I'll report what we find here.

I'm looking for another option for our second evening. Would you recommend a specific place in Stonington?

You would have to check at Ocean House but I am pretty sure that they have a water taxi that takes you over to Stonington. Once you get there, you can walk to everything.

IMO totally just eat right there its expensive but they have items you cant get in most restaurants. If you want the higest quality you wont have to move.
