I like Fresh Fire Kabob in the third floor food court at Hollywood and Highland. The chicken breast kabob is $7.45 and the pork kabob is $7.75. Both are moist, lean and nicely seasoned. Maybe someone who has tried a beef dish could comment.

They come with any five (!) sides you choose. Sides include nicely-spiced potato wedges with the skins intact, several rice dishes, creamy or spicy slaw, stuffed grape leaves, kidney bean/mushroom mix (unfortunately also including corn the last two times I was there), hummus (I suggest asking them to add red pepper like I do), pickles, pickled cauliflower/cabbage mix, beet salad, tomato/cucumber mix and more.

I second the previous posts; here are my additions:

Hollywood / Highland: Beard Papa for Japanese style cream puffs. Very delicious & addictive. 1st floor of the mall on the left side of the main entrance to the court, not more than 150' from the station entrance.

If you order fresh, a NY-style pizza at several of the various pizza joints will hit the spot. Stefano's Two Guys from Italy is my usual choice. North side of Hollywood approaching Las Palmas, two blocks from the station.

Hollywood / Western: Yai for the most superior home-style Thai food. NW corner of Hollywood & Serrano, one block east of the station. Closed Tuesdays.

Vermont / Santa Monica: Gran Burrito for good quality, inexpensive tacos, burros, tostadas, etc. Located adjacent to the station accessed from Santa Monica immediately west of Vermont.

Union Station: A coffee shop across from Traxx restaurant in the main waiting hall has a very good selection of bagels. Order one with cream cheese & avocado, & it will hold you over for a long walk or train ride!
