Dinner options near Red Line stations?

After doing my "due diligence" searching the boards, I'm coming up blank, so here goes: I'm looking for a restaurant that will give three friends a good -- perhaps memorable? -- dinner within a couple of blocks of one of the Metro Red Line stations between Vermont/Sunset (i.e., Vermont/Hillhurst/Los Feliz) and Hollywood/Highland. Said restaurant must have interesting options for the vegetarian (not vegan) in our group, and should not be punishingly loud on a Friday night, to suit our hearing-challenged friend. Price is not a determining factor, but we'd prefer someplace elegant to someplace funky.

TIA for giving this some thought, and sharing your recommendations.

Bottom line, the Red Line is a great tour of some of the best food LA has to offer, there are treasures to be found within walking distance of pretty much every stop.

Just reviewed that link, vintage-dated 2007, and so many of the places mentioned are no longer around - amazing the changes.

I would go to a Thai place in Hollywood in your position. I think Jitlada, Pailin, Ruen Pair, and Spicy BBQ should all be within walking distance of one of the redline stops.

        Ruen Pair Restaurant
5257 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027

        Spicy BBQ
5101 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90029

Hollywood & Western is the closest stop to Thai Town, and not all that close to Jitlada as it is on Sunset across from the 99cent store - well worth the walk, yet not all that proximate, aka 8 or so blocks away.

    2. Thanks, all, for your suggestions. We've decided to meet at the Hollywood/Highland station and walk to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel for drinks at the Library Bar, then dinner at Public Kitchen.
