  1. when you say "reasonable prices," what, exactly do you mean?
please give us an approximate amount that you want to spend per person.
please specify whether this amount includes drinks, tax, tip, etc?
(normally, for me, tax and tip alone add another 30% add drinks, tax and tip and the tab can easily double)

And maybe even an example of a restaurant that the OP goes to and finds "not too loud" for a bit of "dialing in" of that parameter too...

    2. Il Tiramisu on Ventura at Woodman is a very good family run Italian with a full bar and reasonable prices. They have two rooms and would work well for a party.

      1. yeah you guys are right, mea culpa....last year we went to Bistro Provence, so maybe that helps as an example....since it was small, there were not many other guests; and the prices were good. thanks for the Il Tiramisu suggestion - looks like it could be an option!

Rive Gauche has a wonderful patio (one of the prettiest patios in LA) that is very quiet and a separate little section where they could easily set up a table for 10. I think the food is good and the prices are reasonable. I like Justin of all the wait staff. They also have a bar area off the patio that is in a totally separate building from the restaurant where you can sit on couches and have a drink before dinner and chat. Also very quiet in the bar area.
