Nikka Japanese Whisky Coming to the US

People ask about getting Japanese whisky in the US from time to time. At this time, Suntory is the only Japanese whisky company that exports to the US and they only send over three bottlings (Yamazaki 12 and 18 year olds and Hibiki 12).

Now, Whiskycast, the whisky podcast, reports that Nikka distillery had acquired a US importer and, after clearing regulatory hurdles, will be sending whisky to the US. No word on which bottlings we will get.

  1. You are seriously lucky. Nikka makes excellent stuff. Their blend, Nikka, Whiskey from the Barrel, is one of my absolute favourites.

    1. Any new updates on this, sku? I had really wanted to get some while in L.A. over the holidays, and I read elsewhere that they were slated to start selling late last year or early this year.

It's been slow going so it doesn't look like they will make it until next year. However, Suntory's Hakushu, another Japanese whisky did recently arrive and is on the shelves in LA.
