I just saw channel 5 award "Best Italian Deli" to the Eastside Market on Alpine just west of Chinatown, the #7 roast beef and pastrami was favorite, mentioned the deli attracts Cops, FBI, CIA, and lots of city workers, I know they ferret out the best places.

Eastside Market Deli is superlative at what they do. Big, stuffed sandwiches with hot roast beef, pastrami, or the combo, with a barely detectable slice of cheese and some softened peppers, dripping with jus. Or meatball, sausage, or the combo, with tomato sauce. All messy, delicious, and big -- I almost always eat half and wrap the other for dinner. All $7.40 plus tax. Much better value than the more famous Phillippe's or Cole's.

Comparing Eastside Market to Coles or Phillippe's, is apples to oranges.

How so? They're all similar in what they offer, price and proximity.

They sell an Italian cold cut combo sandwich at Coles?

I don't believe that Nosh or the OP mentioned an Italian cold cut combo sandwich. You can certainly compare roast beef / french dips between the 3.
