Flying Thursday, start eating Friday. Would love recs/feedback for Anchorage, Seward, drive to Homer, Girdwood please.
Hi -
We are about to spend 10 days in Alaska for the first time. I have done some reading and would love input and suggestions on some dining options. We love local, regional dining experiences, high, low, dives and shacks welcome. Except for Talkeetna, we are two nights in each place.
Some thoughts so far:
Anchorage
Simon & Seaforts or Jenn's for our first night?
Sack's or Spennard Roadhouse or Gwennie's for our second night? (I know, all very different)
Reindeer dogs at the hot dog stand
Talkeetna
Lunch at Talkeetna Road House
Dinner at West Rib
Any suggestions please for a great local place to stop for lunch on our way back to Anchorage? In Palmer perhaps? We'll be in a car.
Seward
Lunch at Smoke Shack Train Wreck
Dinner at Salmon Bake
Need another dinner - Ray's? Chinooks? Something else?
Drive from Seward to Homer
Would love lunch suggestions as we'll be doing this drive in both directions.

Your list looks great--I'm sorry only one person responded!
Do you have any feedback about the places you mentioned in your post? We're doing a similar trip starting this Saturday . . . .
Thanks in advance!

re: stephanieslma
Hi there
Our favorite meals were the following:
Talkeetna Road House - old time road house
Smoke Shack Train Wreck - dive-ish
Salmon Bake - rustic, local
The Saltry - fantastic boat ride on The Danny J out to this delicious local spot in a beautiful setting
FYI - we did not much care for The Double Musky. Too many people. Someone we met on the plane home said that Jack Spratt was their favorite meal of their trip.Safe travels. Enjoy a fantastic time. We loved Alaska.
