Two great lunch deals, Le Reminet and L'Agrume
I was thoroughly impressed by the lunch menus (well, formula in the case of L'Argume) at both Le Reminet and L'Argume. My wife and I spent 30 days in Paris, and rarely went out for expensive dinners, but we did make a habit of treating ourselves to some nice lunches. L'Argume and Le Reminet definitely standout as the best of those...
L'Argume offered plat+glass of wine+coffee for 17 Euro (they also offer a wineless formule of entree+plat, but I forget the price...perhaps the same?). The standout at our visit was were pork cheeks with white beans...absolutely fabulous, and went great with the house bread. My DCs had the risotto with asparagus and the cod, respectively, and each was very good.
Le Reminet's deal is nothing short of remarkable: entree+plat+dessert for I believe 15 E., however, choice is limited to two per course. My wife and I both had the chicken gizzard salad: fabulous, while we followed with an exemplary trout and the best entrecote I had in Paris (except for my own).
I thought I'd throw up this thread because I know people often search this board for good value meals in Paris. IMHO it's hard to beat lunch at either of these fine places.
Some other bargain possibilities which we also enjoyed:
Petit Pontoise (too expensive at dinner)
Estragon (same menu lunch or dinner, great and cheap Spanish tapas in the fifth near Rue Mouffetard)
L'Ecurie, 15 E for three courses at dinner...very good steak frites, fun staff, two free drinks per person (a glass of sangria to start and a cognac with the check)
