Julia & Paul Child in the OSS - A Covert Affair

Hopefully the Julia part of this is enough to keep the topic going for a bit.

So I bought this book, A Covert Affair, because it was supposed to be about the time Julia and Paul Child spent in the OSS at the end of World War II. I'm now 175 pages in to this 375 page book and 90% of it is a bout a woman who, I presume, became the subject of McCarthy era investigations and dragged Paul Child into a rough period defending himself.

Now............. I'm hoping that the book will eventually get around to Julia and Paul to a greater degree, as it was certainly marketed as being about them. At this point, though, I've almost had enough and would return it if I thought I could.

Has anyone read this book far enough into it to tell me if it really does get around to being about the Childs???? And................ is it worth finishing, or is it one I'll donate to the local public library. Kinda ticked off at my favorite TV guy Charlie Rose right now for featuring the book and its author, and getting me to buy it.

Thanks.

This whole thing is really pretty unbelievable. How does a publisher get away with this? That'll teach me to read the reviews even when a trusted source does a piece on it................ that turns out to be misleading as well. Sheesh!!! Major faith break for me.
