1/2 price wine nights?
We've been going to the Farmhouse on Wed night to take advantage of their all-wine-half-price deal and have had some great treats we normally couldn't afford. Any place else doing something like this with wine?

Great thread pp.
Farmhouse has the 1/2 price on Tu, and W. That's when I go there and I'm very happy to buy a bottle. Once I found a bottle of 1996 Dom and got it at 1/2 price. And this applies to by the glass wines.
Antica Trattoria has 1/2 price bottles on Mon, and Tu. except for the wines marked with and asterisk .(no biggie since those are the most expenssive)

Not a board favorite, but Pacifica Del Mar's wine list is 1/2 price on Thursdays. Slightly different approach, but Avenue 5 still has no corkage fee on Sundays.

Just to add one more - JSix has 50% off on wines on Wednesday.
It's always surprising how little recognition JSix and Chef Graves get. We had yesterday again an outstanding 5-course tasting menu (but they served us 10 different dishes). Every chef has a own style and Graves has a kind of minimalistic style with often inly a few ingredients in a dish but very talented in bringing out the natural flavors of these locally sourced items. It's kind of ironic that beside "higher end" places, like Blanca, Kitchen 1540, SD is doing best in this mid-priced "bistro-style" places and everytime somebody asks on CH for recommendations in SD the first advice is always to avoid downtown when the two best restaurants of not only dowtown but SD for this style are actually downtown, Cafe Chloe and JSix.

Honkman is correct. The Half Price wine night at Cafe Chloe is Wednesday night-- and there are definitely some $90 bottles I'm interested in tasting.
