Going to Blue Ginger

I have reservations for dinner at Blue Ginger (Ming Tsai Restaurant). I am very excited, just wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions. Thanks!

I was just at BG for lunch today and had an amazing strawberry/rhubarb crisp with cardomom ice cream - get it!

That sounds delicious. You could put cardamom ice cream on a sneaker and I would probably eat it.

Seriously. I was tempted to ask more more ice cream... It was that good.

My two top choices have already been mentioned. I almost always get the tuna poke appetizer followed by the butterfish. Can't go wrong with those. My other favorite is the lobster although I had it once and it was too salty which must mean it had a TON of salt because I never think anything is too salty.

I ate here on Tuesday and also thought it was too salty (and I like salt). Butterfish was fantastic.

Interesting. last time I had the butterfish it was too watery/ tasteless (zero sake/miso flavor to speak of), although other times it has been good.

Foie Gras Shiitake Shumai is a must get.

I recommend the tuna poke on crispy rice cake and the lobster... some of the other dishes can be very good but sometimes inconsistent (duck, lamb, butterfish). avoid the carpaccio.

Agree 100% on the butterfish. I don't know how or why it tastes so good but it was really good. How does he do it? Does anyone know?

The butterfish is yummy, but it's really too bad the three-vinegar shrimp is no longer on the menu, because that was the most delicious dish they made.

If you have any vegetarians in your party, their (usually single) vegetarian dish is always interesting and very good.
