That was fast--LudoBites 007 full within a couple of minutes
After having attended the previous handful of Ludo incarnations, it looks like I won't get to sample 007. Once I got through the ludicrous Opentable security checkpoint to ensure that I wasn't a bot, every reservation was gone. That was at 4.02pm or two minutes after booking opened. Too bad as I always love his brilliance.

Went to the first 3 incarnations before it became impossible to book reservations. I thought the first incarnation was the best. The food and prices haven't been the same since. The Foie Gras Black Croque Monsieur was so genius at Breadbar, and so disappointing (omitted the cherry amaretto compote and the ham I think) at G&P 4.0.
For more refined, and dare I say more skilled cooking but no less genius, look for Chef Laurent Quenioux's next pop up in August.

re: Windy
Sorry to hear that LQ isn't available that week you're in town. At least you'll be at Mozza's Whole Hog dinner. Remember to pace yourself unless you can eat like Daveena.
I didn't remember many izakayas in the bay area. If you're willing to drive, you can always do Torihei or Izakaya Bincho on Sunday. There are both adventerous and non adventerous options...
See e-kiss' amazing review with photos:

re: Porthos
I just had a very good dinner at NoJo, the newest zen izakaya in Hayes Valley (founding chef from Ame). But it's not traditional, or the range you have in LA.
Torihei looks amazing! I was planning on going to Musha, although this would be a great alternative if I could persuade anyone to leave the west side. My friends and family don't need the 405 to be shut down to hibernate.
Looking forward to reviews of both LudoBites and the next LQ menu.
