Eating strategies for Bleinheim Palace?
I worked once for two people who spent lots of time in Woodstock. They mentioned the Feathers as being a very good place there. Goring is a bit of a drive but there are some good restaurants in that town along the Thames. You could research that if you have a car and I think The Swan Inn in Swinbrook is also rated. My husband spent a lot of his childhood in that area, but we haven't been there for some years.
The drive from Woodstock to Swinbrook is about 25 minutes, but if this is acceptable it is well worth the trip to dine at the Swan, a wonderful dining pub with delicious food. It is also a fascinating place if you have any interest in the Mitfords, with enlarged photos of the sisters throughout. In Woodstock, we stayed at the Bear Hotel and had a very nice dinner there, but it was so long ago that I can't vouch for the food today. I do see it still gets favorable reviews on Tripadvisor.
